Subject: Mahashivratri in Kolkata

Many Stories on the Greatness of the Guru are available in Indian history and
scriptures. Yet the opportunity to be alive in the same Life time of the
Incarnation of a Guru is rare.

Many of us rightly believe that India is again going through a period
resembling the Bhakti Kaal. That period saw great saints such as Nanak ji and
the Sikh Gurus, Meerabai, Tulsidas ji, Ravidas ji, Kabir ji, and so many.

Let us not miss this opportunity and celebrate our existence and go beyond
misery forever under the spiritual guidance of our beloved Guruji. Do His
bidding.

http://www.aolshivratri2010.org/

Serve the Master with your Body, Mind and Spirit. Guruji is here to purify all
3 for you. Embrace His company, Embrace His presence. Join in to uplift
spirituality in this Universe.

Come meditate with us.

Subject: AOL News: Anti-smoking drive from Jan 26

BANGALORE: Over a hundred children from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir
(SSRVM) school, along with their teachers, participated in an anti-smoking
rally that was held simultaneously at the Koramangala BDA complex, Forum Mall
and Raheja Arcade. Children are especially prone to the effects of smoking,
said Ujval Shankar, co-ordinator of Art of Living Koramangala and HSR Layout.
These young minds if educated at an earlier period, will abstain from such bad
habits, he added.
The event is part of the value-based education project of the school. Every
quarter, the school takes up a social cause.
"In the first quarter of this year, the focus is on quitting smoking. To help
people give up the habit workshops and such rallies will be held. Through such
events and value-based education, the harms of smoking get embedded in children
and they also become a vehicle for spreading awareness," said Reshma Ganesh,
Principal, SSRVM School. Children also distributed pamphlets to passers-by
educating them on the ill-effects of smoking and diseases such as lung cancer.
Workshops on 'Quit Smoking' will be held from January 26-31 at Indian Heritage
Academy, by representatives of the Art of Living Foundation, from 6 am to 9 am
and 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm everyday.
