Appeal for South India Flood Relief
Torrential rains over last one week have left millions homeless and hundreds
dead in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The floods considered to be
the worst in hundred years, have affected all 14 districts of Karnataka's
northern region and 2 districts in Andhra Pradesh. According to official
sources, over 26,000 houses have collapsed in North Karnataka. Most of the
eleven districts in the region are inundated, as all the rivers are flowing
above the danger mark. Road and rail transport services have also been
disrupted.
The International Association for Human Values (IAHV), in partnership with the
Art of Living Foundation (AOLF) has established a disaster relief fund to
provide humanitarian assistance to the victims of the floods in Karnataka and
Andhra Pradesh. Your contributions will be used to provide immediate material
relief, trauma relief and long term rehabilitation.
Art of Living volunteers are already on the ground, providing relief materials,
temporary shelter, food, medical aid and trauma relief programs to reduce
people's anxiety and stress levels. Trained Yuvacharyas (rural youth leaders)
will be also reaching the worst affected villages. The organization is also
working in conjunction with the state government of Karnataka to distribute
relief materials.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the disaster relief coordination team along with the
volunteers visited some of the worst affected areas in Northern Karnataka on
October 4th. Art of Living has pledged to adopt 60 worst affected villages and
provide emergency relief in other areas as well
IAHV is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions are fully
tax-deductible.
How can YOU contribute?
1. Credit Card: Please go to our secure website
http://www.iahv.org/donate.asp to make a donation.

Subject: Navratri Course experience

I am really grateful to have the opportunity to stay at the Sri Sri Ashram for
the long course, it was a wonderful experience, both the course and the stay.
Nine days went so fast, in a blink I thought. The ashram seva team made our
stay really comfortable and homely. Indeed I felt I was at home and returning
to NJ was hard. This was the first time I experienced Navratri celebrations of
a different kind, never knew about such celebration before. It was wonderful to
have experienced the course and navratri with RajeshriDidi and everyone. The
Ashram is at a very nice place, quiet and all surrounded by peaceful nature.
Wonderful place to come and stay and be with oneself. Also the tasty meals
cooked fresh daily, it was amazing. They are wonderful and amazing, the ashram
seva team at Uvalde, Texas.
Thank You and Jai Gurudev
