Intensive Part II course at the Sri Sri Ashram, Uvalde, Texas ,US during Labor
day weekend from Sept 3rd to Sept 7th, 2009.

The Sri Sri Ashram at Uvalde, Texas heartily welcomes you all to be in the
midst of pristine nature to discover yourself. Sri Sri Ashram is nestled in the
Hill Country across from the historical Frio River on a 152 acre ranch. In the
evenings/nights, beautiful stars brightly decorate the vast sky. These
luminaries are spectacular and you become spellbound gazing at them. Come and
experience the fresh air and the morning dew kissing your feet as you walk
through the grounds. All of nature conspires to bring you peace and
enlightenment. You will absolutely LOVE it.

If you love being hollow and empty and just wanted to do Hollow and Empty
meditations, then the Intensive part II course is for you. It is a special
residential course taught by a senior teacher. This course does happen
frequently and happens only in a few locations so do NOT miss this opportunity.

You will experience true silence and relaxation. It includes a combination of
Silence, Sadhana (Yoga and Meditation), Satsang (Celebration) and Seva
(Service). Silence takes you deeper into yourself, Sadhana builds Energy,
Satsang maintains it (elevating the consciousness) and finally, this energy is
lovingly channeled through Seva.

Subject: Sri Sri Yoga TTC - A PROMISE!

To the North America AOL Community!
This is the last call for the year to wake up to the value and beauty of Sri
Sri Yoga TTC with Krishan Verma. The only SSY TTC in North America for this

Subject: Fun Seva - 24 Hrs Om Namah Shivaya Chanting Marathon for Pune

Pune, India needs your presence now!

Due to the H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as swine flu, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar,
Gurudev, has had to call off public gatherings such as Long Kriya and Satsang
in Pune, India. This is apparently an unprecedented action, for at least 15
years! So conditions are that serious now.

Starting Thursday, August 13, 2009 to Friday August 14, 2009 from 4 AM Indian
Standard Time to 4 AM Indian Standard Time, the Pune chapter is holding and
requesting the vicarious participation of people in an OM NAMAH SHIVAYA
chanting. For 24 hours, in half-hour slots, people will be chanting the phrase,
"Om Namah Shivaya" aloud. In USA time, this will be from Wednesday August 12,
2009, 5:30 PM CST to Thursday, August 13, 2009, 5:30 PM CST. This is 6:30 PM to
6:30 PM East Coast time, and 3:30 PM PST to 3:30 PST for California. For those
in other countries, you can use the following website to convert time:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html

If you care for children (and adults), want to do some light seva, love health,
feel moved to bring relief, etc., then please do volunteer for a half-hour slot
please, please then just remember in these announced 24 hours to pick any half
hour slot and do chant Om Namah Shivaya aloud for the entire 30 minutes-the
unsung seva is very valuable. If you wish, you can e-mail me at
desai.smita@gmail.com, the time slot (with the time zone/day/location) when you
are/did chanting, and I am relaying (without anyone's name, just number of
people & times) info to the Pune Chapter, so they have some record of people
who are participating. Chant with the Intention of reducing suffering for Pune
residents and wishing health and happiness on them, of resolving the health
epidemic and its concomitant problems very soon, and allowing Art of Living to
resume its divine activities of serving humanity. Anyone joining in will be of
help to the planet!!

People need you. Now is the time to care and share and it's so simple and it
benefits you as well! Let's show the Punites how USA and India care and that we
belong to them!!!! Join our minds and breath in love :-).

Jai Guru Dev. Om Namah Shivaya!

*For a refresher on Om Namah Shivaya and its vibrational benefits, please see
below excerpt from Guruji.

Regards,
Smita

* From Wisdom from Sri Sri blog, July 30th, 2009,
http://wisdomfromsrisri.blogspot.com/2009/07/you-are-connected-with-nature.html
Q. What does Om Namah Shivaya mean?
Sri Sri: Na mah shi va ya, these five symbolise the five elements in creation
– earth, water, fire, air, and ether. The whole universe is made up of these
five elements in different combinations and permutations.

Om represents the life force. It has many meanings - universal energy, love,
peace, totality. The life energy in all elements is represented by this mantra
- Om Namah Shivaya. It is so powerful! It builds the energy in your system and
clears the environment.

Subject: Opportunity to experience Spirituality starts from the first step from
home – Our pilgrimage to the Panch Bhoota Kshetrams

We were a group of 14 who embarked on the above journey from Chennai. Soon we
realized , our interests, needs and health aspects were entirely different. But
we were on a journey together. All possibilities to get lost were experienced
every time in the highly crowded places and there was ample opportunity to
practice all the knowledge points to keep our cool.

Once, on a day when we were supposed to be with Gurudev at 8 a.m. I was left
in another room sleeping till 7.30 a.m. (came back from the Giri Pradhakshina
at 5.30 a.m. and could not go to my room). When I got up I found that my room
mates had locked their room and had taken the key J I had no access to even
take my paste and brush, leave alone the cell phone. Rest was history how I
made it up as I could still think of a plan of action. We realized how much we
depended on the other for our own fulfillment!.

We did the Giri Pradhakshina (going round the mountain) at Tiruvannamalai on
the full moon day. This is about 15 kms. Swami Sureshji, our SSY teacher from
Kerala was leading us. The way he took care of each one of us would have put
even a mother to shame. It cannot be expressed in words. I saw spirituality
expressing itself through him.

He was walking absolutely effortlessly and slowly and still was much ahead. I
am yet to unravel the secret behind this.:)

Another experience was at the Kailasanathar temple at Kancheepuram which is
1400 year old. Most of us went through the death and birth passage in the
temple . I believe even fat people could do it provided they had the trust. All
the sculptures in the temple were mishandled by the British due to their
ignorance except 2 which are kept under lock and key. We didn't even know
about this till the pujari showed us. These are the idols of dancing Shiva and
Parvati. When the aarti is raised, you see an angry Shiva and smiling Parvati
and when it is lowered, you see a smiling Shiva and shy Parvati. A real marvel
indeed!!! Our ancestors knew that anger and smile are 2 sides of the same
coinJ .

Subject: 9 pearls of wisdom given by Gurudev during the Panch Bootha TN tour

9 Pearls of wisdom from Gurudev during the Pancha Bhoota temple tour in
Tamilnadu

1. When the head is stuck, life is stuck.

2. What is luck? You are lucky when you feel a) I do not need anything
and b) What can I do for others?

3. Gana (Music), Dhyana (Meditation) and Gnana (wisdom) are important.
Gnana is like a soap. Even if you have paid a price, you have to wash it away.
You cannot keep it for ever. Karma gets burnt only with Gnana.

4. There are 2 types of dance – Rudra Thandavam and Ananda Thandavam.
Ananda Thandavam is from the heart.

5. You can contribute to the place when you meditate. A strong sadhak
makes a difference to the place. A weak sadhak gains from the place. And both
are OK.

6. When you do pranayama before Puja, your sankalpa gains strength.

7. The best gift is the 'knowledge of the Truth'. No special effort
is required for this. The ignorance just needs to be destroyed. Then
automatically 'Truth' is seen.

8. The pilgrimage is the best way to integrate the nation.

9. The life that is of no use to others is not a LIFE at all.
