Subject: Art of Meditation Course in Charlotte with Tanuja Limaye: April 30th -
May2nd, 2010

We are indeed blessed that Tanuja Limaye will conduct the Art of Meditation
course in Charlotte. This course features the Sahaj Samadhi meditation
technique.
Sahaj can be literally translated as "effortless" and this technique allows the
mind to effortlessly settle into a state of bliss and meditation.

We know that the mind cannot be managed by effort. The more effort we put on
the mind to act in a certain direction, the greater it resists it. On this
beautiful course, we learn how we can let go of all effort and allow the mind
to come to rest, and meditation happens naturally in this restful state. When
we return from that state of complete rest and tranquility to our daily life,
we are
refreshed, recharged and completely rejuvenated.

Everyone has experienced this meditative state in certain moments of deep joy
and happiness, perhaps on a vacation or when you are completely engrossed in an
activity. Just for a moment the mind becomes so light and at ease. We have such
moments and want to repeat them, but don't know how. Learning Sahaj Samadhi
Meditation gives us the ability to recreate this feeling of ease, of calm
alertness, in the midst of busy daily life.

Learning to meditate is a wonderful gift that you can
give yourself. Actually, it is a gift that keeps giving back every day, as you
regularly practise meditation. Come experience it for yourself!

Subject: YES! for Schools Movement in US

I have been teaching YES! in schools in the U.S. for over a year now. Having
gone through the American education system myself, I know how badly YES! is
needed in schools. Things have not gotten any better, but by teaching YES! I
have been seeing an amazing change happening in the individual students who
have been participating in the program. Most of the schools that the YES! for
Schools team teach in are in low income neighborhoods. The obstacles that the
kids we teach go through are quite disheartening. So many of the kids that I
have taught personally have been abused physically, have seen their friends
killed in gang violence, struggle with drug addiction and depression, and live
in fear on a daily basis. So many of these same students tell me how much the
Youth Empowerment Seminar has changed their lives and empowered them to do
something about their situation. It gives so much relief to them and it really
has an effect on the entire school.

I am obviously very grateful to be a part of this gigantic movement exploding
in the U.S. I used to be extremely depressed, angry, and addicted to drugs in
high school. For me to be offering this beautiful treasure of knowing who you
are to high school students is such an amazing thing. This is most definitely
the best thing I have ever done with my life and has been incredibly empowering
for me. I have also developed and maintained many connections and relationships
to so many different and inspiring people. It is truly indescribable. I am
writing out my experience, because I (and the entire YES! for Schools team)
want YES! in every single school. For this to happen we need more teachers! We
have been turning down schools because we don't have the teachers to teach
them.
-Clay Courchaine

So we need help spreading the word about this training program throughout the
country!! We are offering a two-week training to start people on the process of
becoming YES teachers. We are gearing this training towards college students
and recent grads as well as high school teachers that want to teach YES! in
their schools, but anyone can come to this training (participants do not have
to have already taken the Art of Living Course). The training involves the
Educators course, the Art of Meditation course, and YES training. After the
training there will be 2-5 week fieldwork opportunities around the country
assisting YES teachers in high school summer programs.

The YES! for Schools Summer Training

Dates for the training: June 20 thru July 4th held in the SF Bay area.

Dates for the fieldwork July 4th- July 30th

Cost: $1200

etc...----

Subject: Bangaloreans Learn Cooking - The Ayurvedic Way

In Bangalore more than a 100 people learnt to cook healthy and tasty food -
the Ayurvedic Way.

Ending last week, the Ayurvedic Cooking Course and its lively teacher, Kaushani
Desai wowed participants at 4 different course venues.

And no, there were not only women participants as you would like to believe;
men showed keen interest in learning about the food and themselves too – and
in the bargain there were many surprises for them.... old concepts were
shattered, new discoveries made, participants got educated in many aspects of
food and cooking....

They learnt about their own body type depending on the element predominant in
their constitution – air, water, fire, in combination with earth and
ether....

They further learnt about the qualities of different foods and food types –
again as per Ayurveda

Going on to know about the effect of each food on their particular constitution
and what food is right for them based on the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda...
they discovered a whole new way to cook and eat right......

Learning to eliminate long cooking hours and preparing food that is nutritious,
retains original flavour and is high energy giving while not being high on
calories....

A new vista opened before the participants as they understood the theory and
saw the practical demonstration of cooking food the Ayurvedic way....

The effects were visible during the 6 days of the course itself; energy levels
were high, noon time lethargy gave way to dynamism, pains and aches were better
understood and tackled....

NO WONDER, many have vowed to follow this healthy regimen for their whole
family and of course volunteered to organise more courses... some even desiring
to become teachers of Ayurvedic Cooking to spread this knowledge towards health
and vibrant energy.

To organise this course and make it a success are Sivatholu, Rahul, Bharathy,
Radhika, Bala & Geetha, Ganga Sharma and their volunteers.........

Interested in organising an AYURVEDIC COOKING COURSE in your city?? Contact me
on 9916035018 (Bangalore Ashram) or email ayurvediccooking@vvmvp.org

Healthy n Happy Living

Jai Gurudev
