Subject: A Divine Holi...YES! Ludhiana

It was a usual Sunday morning something around 8 am when some of our
30 Yes! Commandos were getting ready to start their day in different style.

And guess what! The whole team went to play Holi with the 70 odd Kids of "Sri
Sri Ravi Shankar School", Ludhiana.

We all got Vibrant Colors, lip-smacking Food, Powerful
Artilleries,(Pichkari's) and something very important. The Sanklapa with That
big naughty Charismatic Smile to make beautiful day of those Kiddos really
special!

Within no time everyone's wild instincts was out in full action... The
excitement started rising up and so was the level of Hoo-Ha!!

It gave much Freedom to all present to let their hair loose and enjoy their
hidden crazy self.

Children particularly enjoyed dancing while throwing water filled balloons
Besides, they had their water missiles and even Buckets to drench the person
from far and escaped further drenching.

As most of the times I was Behind The lens, these kiddos were more than happy
to give me Some good shots with full of poise… all eager to fit in My
Camera's frame.

Finally after a wild and eventful masti ,it was time to satisfy their tiny
hungry bellies .Yes! Commandos got ready with the food to be served but
Aaaaa… Before the Kids could start over binging, we all recited Mantras and
Om Chants which were very energizing…

We concluded with Acknowledgements Ceremony ;-) and Of course with Chocolates.

Truly everyone's enthusiasm reached its peak and matched with the nature
which was in full bounty at the time of Holi.

A day where we all felt that the Divine was sitting right here within us….

We all were touched…

Wish u all a very Happy 'n' Colourful Holi... Jai Guru
Dev!

See you all again with an another Mesmerizing Experience…

Love

Ritu Kapoor

Subject: A Way To De-stress For Commonwealth Game Volunteers

source : sify news

As pressure mounts on volunteers for the approaching Commonwealth Games in the
capital, they may find the perfect way to stay high on enthusiasm and physical
fitness with an Art of Living course. The mega event, which will take place in
Delhi from Oct 3 to 14, aims to recruit 30,000 volunteers from a cross-section
of people - from students and homemakers to ex-servicemen and corporate
honchos.

Sudhir Mital, the special director general looking after the volunteers
programme, said: 'The Art of Living Foundation has expressed an interest in
providing a three-day course on stress management to the Commonwealth Games
volunteers'.'The course, which is otherwise a week long, will be specially
formulated to suit our needs. According to the proposal, it will be divided
into a four-hour capsule for three days. We are in the process of finalising
it,' Mital told IANS.

Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's organisation, the Art of Living
Foundation, teaches meditation and yoga with a basic aim of de-stressing. The
foundation has a large following across the globe and has a presence in 151
countries.

Darshak Hathi, international director of Art of Living, said the foundation
will also offer members of their youth wing for the volunteers programme.'We
are hoping to give 1,000 volunteers from our youth wing for the volunteers
programme for the Games. Members of our youth wing are in the age group of
25-35 and are a dedicated lot. Most of them are also from a sports background;
therefore it's an added advantage,' Hathi told IANS.According to Hathi, besides
helping the volunteers de-stress, the course will also motivate them to take on
challenging tasks.'Along with technical skills, it's important that the
volunteers are taught stress management and coping skills. They also need to be
motivated to take up challenging tasks. Therefore, we have proposed to impart
them the required skills. The same will be provided to the staff,' he
said.Since the number of volunteers will be huge, Hathi said the group will be
divided into batches of 2,000 who will be trained by 25 trainers of the
foundation.

Preeja Jain, a teacher who has applied for the volunteering programme and also
takes the Art of Living course, said: 'If the Art of Living Foundation is
planning to train the volunteers, then there could be no better news.'It's very
important to have a positive outlook, be physically fit and have enthusiasm to
do a task properly and these courses will help in doing that.'

Subject: YES! and ART Excel for the first time in International Schools of
Dubai

The new year brought in a flurry of action! Young Andrew Korza, ART Excel and
YES! Teacher, flew in from Chicago to conduct the first YES! at the American
School of Dubai.

It all began in 2005 . 'Jute Up' –an awareness drive was being conducted
at schools, homes and within social groups by a small group of Art of Living
volunteers. This then evolved bigger into IAHV's 'My Bag My Earth'
campaign.

As a part of its ongoing 'My Bag My Earth Campaign' to reduce and
eventually phase out use of plastic bags in Dubai, the International
Association of Human Values had been conducting lecture & activity for 300
students of the American School of Dubai to coincide with World Earth Day on
22nd April 2008. The event was organized by GAIA - (Global Awareness & Inner
Awakening), the Parents' group at American School of Dubai. Free jute bags (
sponsored by KRAFT)were distributed to the children as their show of support
for the campaign.

What started back in 2008, resulted in GAIA members expressing a keen interest
to hold Youth Empowerment Seminar for teenagers at the school. The school is
moving into bigger premises in September 2010 and aims at starting its own
Organic Garden, Composting and Green cafeteria. The GAIA club wanted to create
an empowered youth team to take this project into its new premises. GAIA
members preferred a North American Speaker and an ideal match was found in
Andrew who is a part of ' Deepening Roots' at the Canadian ashram! Andrew
arrived on 24th January and YES! was held from 28th to 31st Jan at the
school's premises. Do watch the video created by our young adult Rohit:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnyEwif2fDw ( Don't miss the world's tallest
building Burj Khalifa in the backdrop!) The video speaks for itself how a group
of teenagers felt so totally transformed within 3-4 days of the course.

Andrew interacted with the local Dubai YES! members- played on the beach with
them and helped them plant their own tomato and marigold plants. He also guided
volunteers about Composting at Mirdiff after their long kriya session one
Friday morning.

Andrew also paid visits to Dubai English Speaking School, American University
of Dubai , Regent School and Dubai International Academy. The first ART Excel
was then born at the Dubai International Academy from 11th to 14th Feb. 13 kids
from different nationalities participated in the workshop and thoroughly
enjoyed it. They felt it was the most unique workshop they had ever attended
and were begging us to extend it. They planted tomato, lettuce, egg plant and
capsicum seedlings in a plot of land allotted by the school for this project.
We have held one follow up session within the school's premises and hope to
maintain this regularly.

With Guruji's Blessings, we hope to take our youth programs to many more
international schools. Earlier in March 2008, ART Excel had been conducted at
Dubai Modern High School:

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/theuae/2008/April/theuae_April138.xml&section=theuae&col=

and in July 2009, a group of 26 teenagers from the same school went to
Bangalore ashram to attend YES! http://www.ameinfo.com/206822.html
We have been continuing to reach out to schools through our awareness drives,
campaigns and Stand up Speak Out/ Take Action millennium campaigns every year.
But this is the first time we have brought Art of Living youth courses to the
multi -cultural and multi-ethnic schools in Dubai. What a beautiful start to
the year!
