Art of Living Sri Lanka launches ` What`s the good word ? `
educational game for youth

A unique program that fires-up the imagination of school and college
students in the Island nation

Relax the mind. Sharpen the intellect. Shoot your vocabulary skills. This is
the credo and logical step that school and university students in Sri Lanka
will experience in the country`s first ever `What`s the good word ? `
youth game that puts to test students` english vocabulary in a playful
setting.

The Autumn - Winter Season 1 of the `What`s the good word ? ` game
commencing in November 2011 will feature students from the country`s top
schools and colleges vie for the coveted title.

Conceived by the Art of Living Foundation Sri Lanka`s Youth Empowerment
Seminar (YES) Program Director Vidyut Udiaver, this program is to educate
students on the key insight that relaxing the mind with either meditation,
yoga and breathing techniques can produce a razor-sharp intellect for
superb results.

Speaking on the sidelines of an Art of Living workshop, Program Director
Vidyut says " Youth love challenges. This educational game program `What`s
the good word ? ` exactly does that …….an exciting and enriching english
vocabulary testing game that aims to make English learning important yet
playful and is in line with the Sri Lankan Governments declared policy
of strengthening English as a link language between Sinhala and Tamil
and to encourage the correct use of English" .

All participants in the `What`s the good word game ? ` will be offered a
choice to learn simple breathing techniques to relax the mind and sharpen
their intellect and then be placed in a level-playing field to shoot their
vocabulary skills. Students will also get an opportunity to experience for
themselves the difference between being relaxed and responding in high
pressure situations as opposed to just reacting with a confused mind.

This program is billed to be a creative curtain-raiser to the Year of Yoga
Worldwide campaign commencing in December 2011 to raise awareness among
students and youth on the intellect-nourishing role of yoga, meditation
and breathing techniques.

Subject: You are invited to Rudra Pooja in Indirapuram from 6 pm on Sunday,
31st July 2011

You are invited to Samoohik Rudra Pooja in Indirapuram on Sunday, 31st July
2011 from 6 pm at JKG International School, opp Swarn Jayanti Park
Indirapuram Ghaziabad and feel the bliss during the sacred chants by veda
boys in presence of swami ji from bangalore.

"Oh! The lord of lords, Mahadev

The manifestation of the three worlds

The omnipresent, the pure consciousness

Destroyer of evil, lord of mercy and compassion

Source of fertility, bestower of prosperity

I pray to you, please shower your grace!"

What is Rudra Pooja

God is worshipping us every day! Imitating that god is doing to us is pooja.
An action born out of a blossomed mind is pooja. Honouring from the heart
which is full is pooja. Gurudev throws new light on the meaning of the word
pooja.

OM NAMAH PRANAVARTHAYA
SHUDDHA JNANIKA MOORTHAYE
NIRMALAYAPRASHANTAYA
DAKSHINA MOOTHAYE NAMAHA

Understand the word 'pooja'. 'Poo' means 'poornatha', fullness. 'Ja'
means 'born out of'. That which is born out of fullness is pooja. When
your consciousness becomes so full and in that state when you do an action
that is known as pooja. When heart is full and you are overwhelmed, when an
action is done out of that overwhelming state and gratitude is expressed,
that is known as pooja.

Rudrapooja is an ancient practice that has been followed in India since time
immemorial. Rudra means Shiva - The Benevolent, The Destroyer of evil. Pooja
means that which is born of fullness. Through this pooja one can aim for
inner peace and fulfillment.

Why Rudra Pooja

The world is a play of energy, negative and positive. When we pray to Shiva
- the Lord of transformation; the entire negative energy around us in the
form of disease, depression, and unhappiness gets transformed into peace,
prosperity and joy. Peace around us, in the mind, body and soul.

This year also we have organized Shraavan Rudra Puja at Dwarka. Experience
the bliss of Rudra Pooja and the shooting effect of vedic chanting. The
chanting of the mantras is so pure and meditative that it takes us to a
different plane. Shraavan is a special month for Shiva. It is believed that
the Rudrapooja done in this month has manifold effect on the Sankalpas that
we make.

Dates of SAMOOHIK Shravan Maas in Indirapuram
