Few words about Rajima
Rajalakshmi Ratan, affectionately called Rajima by all, as an American lady once put it, "has never met a stranger in her life!" She brings forth an openness that immediately resonates with everyone, making them feel comfortable with themselves and her.
Rajima has been on this spiritual path of life from her childhood. She was introduced to the great Sage Ramana of Thiruvannamalai as a child of five and since has had a string of teachers and masters who have shown her "The Road Less Traveled".
Since the mid eighties, she has given free classes to housewives, teachers and students on the Bhagavat Gita, an amazing text dealing with the subject of how to live a complete life, with all its complexities. Since the beginning of new millennium she has been giving free discourses on Bhagavatam. It was just a step further in the same direction when she became a teacher of the Art of Living Course (designed by HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) and since 1996, brought joy to more individuals who simply "breathed" out their stress and worries!
She has taught many people in India, Singapore, US, Israel and Palestine. She is the perfect combination of the unconditional love of motherhood and the tough love of a master. At the Third International Women's Conference on Feb 6-8, 2009 at the Art of Living International Center, Bangalore, she was given the prestigious Vishalakshi Award for her service in Israel, among other selected women across the world.
The Vishalakshi Awards is instituted in the memory of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's mother.

It will be one week program from 5th-11th Dec 2011.
The first day will be initiation into the ceremony followed by 6 days practice of Sandhyaavandanam and Agnikarya.
What is Upanayana?
Upanayana also called as "sacred thread ceremony" is a ceremony performed to mark the point at which children begin their formal education in the Vedic tradition. Upanayana is traditionally seen as getting a new birth in the spiritual world towards the higher knowledge of the Self. It is an initiation process to learn the sacred chants and mantras according to the Vedic tradition. Upanayanam ceremony is complete with the wearing of the Yajñopavītam (Sacred Thread) on the body.
During the ceremony the great Gayatri Mantra, also known as Brahmopadesha (revealing the nature of Brahman, the Ultimate Reality) is taught to all the participants.
Contribution for Upanayanam is Rs 3500 excluding accommodation.
The basic eligibility is as follows:
For Adults (Men) - Atleast 1 advance course done For children - Either Art Excel or YES should have been done.
You will be invited for the Upnayan once you send us the details. Only after the invitation is received is your registration confirmed.
The amount can be paid either in cash, DD in favour of " Vaidic Dharma Sansthan" or through an online transfer.

Bodhgaya is the 'Land of Enlightenment' and the main pilgrimage for the Buddhists all over the world. The famous Maha Bodhi Temple, where Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment, has been declared a world Heritage Site by UNESCO. Situated on the banks of Falgu River (Niranjana, as mentioned in Ramayana), it is a place sanctified by both the Hindu and the Buddhist religions. It is surrounded by small rocky hills (Mangla-Gauri, Shringa-Sthan, Ram-Shila and
Brahmayoni) by three sides and the river flowing on the fourth (eastern) side. The city has a mix of natural surroundings, age old buildings and narrow bylanes.
Gaya derives its name from the mythological demon Gayasur (which literally means Gaya the demon), demon (asur, a Sanskrit word) and Gaya. Lord Vishnu killed Gayasur, the holy demon by using the pressure of his foot over him. This incident transformed Gayasur into the series of rocky hills that make up the landscape of the Gaya city. Gaya was so holy that he had the power to absolve the sins of those who touched him or looked at him;
