Poverty Alleviation.
Volunteers are required for The International Conference on Energy Poverty
Alleviation to be held in March 2012 at the Art of Living, International
Centre at Bangalore.
About the Conference: The International Conference on Energy Poverty
Alleviation brings together socially conscious individuals and entities with
a vision to power rural India through various innovative and alternative
energy models and schemes. It will be a platform to engage multiple
stakeholders such as companies in energy sector, NGOs, social investors and
foundations in working out sustainable models to achieve this vision. The
conference is being organised by PMU/VVKI division of Art of Living in
collaboration with the World Energy Council, NTPC, Shell Foundation etc.
Currently we require volunteers under the following heads:
· Event Collateral- Assist core team in preparing content such as
presentations, brochures, videos, etc
· Marketing and Event Publicity- Coordinate and assist the core team
in activities that create visibility and awareness about the conference
through use of online and print media.
Volunteers should have good oral and written communication skills and
preferably be based out of Bangalore. Interested candidates can send emails
with a brief note on their background and skill sets to

Subject: My Guru Puja Ph II Experience ... Awesome and Exhilirating
It was a very overwhelming experience for all the 1005 participants of the
Guru Puja Phase II program at the Ashram. Just a few years back, I could
never have imagined in my wildest dream that I would be sitting across to
actually perform a Puja, whose traditions go back to the ancient Vedic days
when the rituals as we learnt and practiced during the Guru Puja Ph I and
II, were done by all the ancient Seers as a token of gratitude and
thanksgiving for all the knowledge and leanings they received from their
Masters.
Myself and many more like me have not chanted so many slokas completely from
our memory earlier and also the performance of the Puja itself, the various
symbolic gestures in a play like manner with the Divine with each gesture
leading us into a state of exalted fulfillment. This was all made so much
easier by Bhanu Didi with her commitment and love. It was like going through
a Kinder garden class and then finally graduating into a Guru Pandit ….at
the end of it all the Pandit title is so much gratifying as also this
enjoins us with so much responsibility to spread the spirit of divine love
and peace around all of us.
After completing the Guru Puja Phase I, the sheer ritual of chanting the
Guru Puja would take me to a deep meditative state and this was a daily
practice I would begin the day with before going to work and as well as
returning from work. Now after completing the Guru Puja Phase II and having
this honorific title of Guru Pandit fills me with a sense of profound
gratitude and thankfulness to our beloved Master, who has with each passing
day made us realize the immense potential of each one of us in being the
Divines instrument to further HIS goals in spreading peace and tranquility
around.
I would like to thank Bhanu Didi and all the angels who made it possible for
me to be part of the 1005 strong Guru Puja Phase II participants and loved
and cherished every moment of it.
