Subject: Summer of Service 2011 at Bangalore Ashram
Here is a rare and privileged opportunity for your kids to experience
this summer. It is called, the Summer of Service. WHAT and WHEN: Beginning
on Jun 17th and ending on June 26th, our YES graduates will have a wonderful
opportunity to serve in a village in India. Staying at the international
headquarters of the Art of Living Foundation, on the outskirts of Bangalore,
India, they will engage in service at a village school, learn organic,
sustainable farming and/or work with women under the Rural Development
Program.
Part of this program is also to learn to document a project. Participants
will learn to identify measurable parameters and see the impact service
makes on them. Each participant has to keep a journal (for personal
reflections) and a Project Notebook (could be in the form of notes,
photographs, video clips etc.) At the completion of the program, the
children will be awarded a certificate of Service. Their documentation can
be part of their personal portfolio. A copy of it needs to be submitted to
VVM (Art of Living, India). Check in at the Bangalore International Center
by Jun 17th noon. There will be an orientation on June 17th at 4 pm that is
obligatory for all participants to attend. Dormitory accommodation of 4-5 to
a room have been arranged. The cost is $400 inclusive of food and stay.
Check out by June 26th noon.
Parents/ guardians are welcome to stay or can take an Art of Living program
when their children are busy. All course fee (Art of Living course or Art of
Silence course) include stay for the duration of the course. Additional
nights cost $25 (includes food).
The above costs do NOT include travel to and from Bangalore Ashram. Special
pick up arrangements can be made from the Bangalore airport or Railway
station at an additional fee.
The above course is on a first-come first served basis, limited to 30

On the path to the inner journey, it takes many wonderful turns, stops and
restarts to move on to the ultimate state of nothingness. A void is perhaps
described as the still state of inner calm devoid of all turbulent vibratory
sensations of the external stimuli. A deep, very deep hidden environ, away
from rays of sun, much like a cocoon in the shell lying thousands of feet
below the ground inside the ocean belly, waiting for its time to rise and
deliver itself from its own restful slumber unto nothing. It rises, shines,
awakens, moves, moves on. Resting in between for a while here and there.
Looking for something, it never finds, something that takes it away from all
motion, commotion agitation and frustration of not being able to find
anything in anything. Then on the last mile it ends up folding within once
again, sucking from the inner nectar of life, restraining its own vision
turned inwards to look out for nothing.
Hah.....WONDER....such is the nature from nothing into nothing to nothing at
all.....LOVE....!
