Sri Sri's Birthday Celebration update
We are honored to host Sri Sri's Birthday Celebrations on May 13th at the
Canadian International Art of Living Centre.
We are very excited to welcome everyone for Guruji's Birthday.
The day starts at 10:00 am with a Ayushya Yagna. (Ayushya Yagna is performed
on a person's birthday.) This Yagna is performed to pray for long, healthy
life of Guruji. This will be followed by a guided meditation. Lunch will be
served to everyone at Noon. At 2:00 pm there will be grand celebrations with
live performances by Quebcois musicians, Brazilian musicians and dancers,
and classical Indian dance. Satsang will follow at 4:00 pm and the day will
end at 6 pm with a fresh home-cooked feast.
To honor this day, we will be donating new clothing to local youth
charities. We invite you to bring one new piece of clothing for donation. If
you wish, you may gift wrap it nicely and put your name on it.
People from many countries all around the world will be coming for Guruji's
Birthday. We encourage everyone to dress in your country's traditional
attire on His Birthday so we all can see and rejoice in the diversity of Art

Subject: Advance Course at Vasad Ashram : Sharing my Experience

Vasad Ashram is small and cute. There is a river that flows by - the
Mahisagar. At this time of the year, it was absolutely still. There is a
cowshed with beautiful "Gir" cows with sloping ears. The old meditation hall
- thatched roof and all - is by the river. The new hall is huge, also
beautiful and full air-conditioned. So one can meditate happily in the 45 or
more degree summer heat !

And that's what i just did ... meditated long, deep and wonderful
hollow-and-empty meditations for the weekend advance course. Start of
meditation and i would be out like a light only to surface with Guruji's
chants at the end. What a wondeful holiday ! With all the rooms
air-conditioned too, the stay there was truly a marvellous rest.
The super Gujju food and hospitality a bonus.

Peacocks and monkeys - langurs, i think - abound at the ashram. Six am is
already long since dawn .. but you can still catch the remnants of the cool
before the heat of the day. The myriad birds and insects are also still
flitting around before they disappear with the onset of the heat.

Rishi Vidhyadharji's knowledge bytes between meditations and at satsang,
along with high voltage satsangs made the experience truly memorable.

There's an advance course at Vasad Ashram every weekend i hear. And a Guruji
birthday special with Rishi Vidhyadharji from the 11th - 16th.

The North Caucasus of Russia - is one of the places of pain of humanity.
The situation is quite complicated.

Four years ago, coming here, I spent the first "Art of Living" course in
the city of Makhachkala. Now the "Art of Living" programs are introduced at
the Governmental level in several republics of the Northern Caucasus: in
Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria.

The purpose of my trip – is a discussion of future prospects for
conducting "Art of Living" courses in the North Caucasus.

The first meeting was held with the Minister of Home Affairs of Dagestan
A.M. Magomedov. Over the past 2 years "Art of Living" courses were conducted
for 1600 military men and policemen. In a warm, friendly atmosphere we have
reached an agreement on the courses with cadets. Only with last month, we've
received 5 letters of thanks from the Russian Ministry of Home Affairs in
the Republic of Dagestan. The Minister thanked for the work and expressed
readiness for further cooperation.

There was a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science, M.Z.
Azizov. Over the last year "Art of Living" courses have done 800 students
(totally 7000 have done). Now the special attention is paid for training
with the youth.

Furthermore, there was meeting with the Minister of Labor and Social
Development I.I. Efendiev and Head of the Public Chamber, G.M. Gamzatov.

From all parts of Russia teachers come for "Art of Living" for aid in the
North Caucasus. The teams work together and responsibly. Coordinator of the
North Caucasus is Anisa Akhmedova.

Guruji's Grace helps in all matters and endeavors!!!
