Subject: Navaratri Celebrations in U.S. Ashram
I have been blessed to be a part of the Navaratri celebrations at the
Bangalore ashram for four years in a row. It is almost impossible to pen down
those experiences, however, I will describe the happenings during those nine
days which will certainly give a glimpse of what to expect.
Guruji begins the celebrations by being in silence during the first few days.
The presence he emanates from the depths of his silence is simply enormous. At
the same time there are many homas such as the Sudarshana homa and Ganapathi
homa happening during the day. All the vedic chanting enlivens the atmosphere
all around. Moreover, the pleasant Bangalore evenings are transformed into a
complete celebration with Bhanu didi, Rishiji and all the other great AOl
singers and devotees from all over the world.
We are blessed with a great opportunity to enrich our own lives and celebrate
these holy days, with our dearest Rajashree didi. To make matters a tad more
intense we will have an advanced course for 9 continuous days for the first
time in the country since the late 1990's. The nine day long hollow and
empties will only be accentuated by the daily pujas and satsangs at the ashram
.The Navaratri celebrations in the U.S. will be held at the serene Texas
ashram. The river nearby, the surrounding hills, the greenery around and not
to forget the sweet sounds of the birds calling, make it the perfect venue to
rediscover ones own Self all over again.
