About the faculty - Dr.Arun Madhavanji

Arunji is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. His professional career with the
multi-national Standard Chartered Bank spanned 27 years taking him to varied
geographic locations overseas and India.

Following an early voluntary retirement from corporate world, he plunged
into spiritual pursuits and community work. As one of the Founder Trustees
of VVK India AOL, he became its First Chairman and held the office till the
Silver Jubilee. He is currently on the Board of Sri Sri Ravishankar Trust
(SSRT).

He has composed and sung many bhajans for AOL and his rendition of Yoga
Vasishta has been very well received all over the world. His book titled
'Sampradaya- A Tribute to Tradition' was released at Beijing in April 2009
during the Incredible India celebrations.

He was conferred many awards and honors -`Dynamic Indian of the Millennium'
by the KG Foundation, the DSc by Karpagam University, Coimbatore, and Paul
Harris Fellow by Rotary International to name a few.

'Nava' means 'nine' and 'Ratri' is made up of 'Ra' which means 'night' and
'Tri' meaning 'the three aspects of our life: Body, Mind and Soul'

'Navratri' means giving rest to all the three aspects of our life, for nine
days.

Navratri, the Art of Living way, is truly a divine experience. Each day has
a series of pujas, yagnas and homas, duly performed as per our vedic
tradition by the Pandits and Veda-Agama Boys from the Ashram. The occasion
is graced by a Swamiji. The mantra chanting and vibrations of these pujas
and homas take us to a deep meditative state. Evenings are filled with
mesmerising devotional singing. Joy, bliss, peace and happiness are no more
just words, you experience them here!

Daily Lalitha Sahasranama Chanting
Lalitha Sahasranama is a sacred Hindu text for the worshippers of the
Goddess Lalita Devi, i.e. the Divine Mother.
Lalita is the Goddess of bliss, an epithet for Parvati.
Lalita Sahasranam is one of the most complete stotras, and one need only
recite it to gain total salvation.


Daily Satsang: 7:30-9:30 pm
Satsang- the company of the truth, where you can drop what people think
about you and be authentic.
There are 2 sides of the brain- left side for logic, right for music;
that's why it is called satsang- discussion on one side, singing on the
other.

rituals begin with an offering to Ganesha, the bestower of Knowledge,
Wealth, Progeny and Salvation.
Ganpati Homa is symbolic of removing the obstacles before initiating any new

Shri Navgraha Homam
This is followed by Navgraha Homa, performed to propitiate Nine Planets,
which influence various spheres of our lives.
Navgraha Homa enhances the positive effects of one's planetary position.

Surroundings and directions have a specific impact on our day to day
activities.
Vaastu Shanti Homa is performed to remove the irregularities or doshas in
the construction of home, factory etc. and nullifies the negative impact of

Shri Maha Rudra Homam
Rudra Homa is used to pacify and propitiate the nine planets, in order to
increase their positive influence and neutralize the negative influence.
Rudra Homa helps to transform a tough situation that is hindering our

Shri Maha Sudarshana Homam
Sudarshan Homa signifies the removal of ignorance & illumination of a new
life enriched with knowledge.
Offered to Lord Sudarshana/Narayana, Sudarshan signifies the discus, the
infallible weapon of Narayan.
The Home is performed to subside the negative influences affecting one's
life.
